- Anthony Moe of far north Rockton remains in jail after a single-vehicle rollover crash on Thursday, charged at age 19 with "Driving Under the Influence" of substances that are only legal at age 21. One passenger, 22 year-old Nycholas Spears of Peoria, was pronounced dead at the scene. His sister Bryonna Blanch says that he was thrown from the car. His mother is collecting donations to have his funeral in Peoria. When first responders arrived, two passengers were still alive. The judge has issued four subpoenas to witnesses, family members, and victims. After a sealed document was filed Saturday, Moe is now charged with a second count of Aggravated DUI/Crash/Death, two counts of Aggravated DUI/Crash/Bodily Harm, and one count of Reckless Homicide/Motor Vehicle. At his next hearing on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, State's Attorney Hannah Shelley will ask the judge to deny his pretrial release.
