Hiring a fire chief for South Beloit, new tax for schools, new librarian

- At Monday’s meeting, the South Beloit City Council will consider paying the Illinois Fire Chief’s Association to help find a fire chief for the City of South Beloit Fire Department. They will also consider a temporary moratorium on the issuance of tobacco licenses.
- Wednesday’s South Beloit Planning Commission meeting will consider whether the Bluff City Materials property at 4633 Prairie Hill Rd. should be pre-annexed and rezoned as Heavy Industrial.
- We'll discuss the Rockton and Roscoe meeting agendas in the next few days.
