Thanks to their students’ “amazing hard work“ during the Fun Run fundraiser, Shirland Community Consolidated School District #134 was able to purchase brand new soccer goals for our school. The students are excited to start using them for gym, recess, and community recreation. Shirland also recently received a $2,500 grant from the Golden Apple Foundation to upgrade their library.
Rockton-Roscoe News received three awards Thursday night at the Northern Illinois News Association banquet, including a third place for General Excellence (Web) and a career first for reporter Marianne Mueller.
