- South Beloit Post 288 of the American Legion has been installing new bricks, raising fresh flags, and ensuring the Veterans Memorial in South Beloit City Park is beautifully maintained in time for Memorial Day.
- Over the last two weekends Harlem Roscoe Fire hosted a Heavy Vehicle Rescue class with instruction from Auto X Extrication. Rockford and Inverness firefighters were some of the participants. The 40-hour program honed their skills in advanced stabilization, tractor-trailer familiarization, bus extrication, and complex rescues. They say, "We are fortunate to have a great working relationship with Maggios Truck Center, Erickson Auto Parts and to have the capability to host classes that expand the skill set of area responders."
