- On Saturday in Capetown, South Africa, former Hononegah wrestler Corey Anderson defeated Denis Goltsov of Russia in a second-round TKO in the Professional Fighters League (PFL) MMA Champions Series. Goltsov was the 2024 PFL Heavyweight World Champion, while this was Anderson's first PFL contest as a heavyweight. Anderson took the Bellator PFL Light Heavyweight title on Mar. 22, 2024 after failing to gain the title in Chicago two years earlier.
- Start reading now. On Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, the Roscoe Book Club will discuss Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride at 6 p.m. at Sophia's Restaurant. Everyone is welcome. They call themselves a "fun, relaxed group so if you did not finish the book, we would still love for you to come to discuss the parts you did read. Men are welcome too."
