Superintendent search, internet survey, job openings, restaurants

It's almost the weekend in Roscoe, Rockton, and South Beloit - with news and events from Rockton-Roscoe News. And Roscoe Restaurant Week begins today.
- In Rockton School District, outgoing Superintendent Glenn Terry was planning to pass the torch to Assistant Superintendent Kevin Finnegan. But Finnegan announced Wednesday that he is resigning effective June 30, 2025. According to a joint statement from the Rockton Board of Education and Assistant Superintendent Finnegan, "He misses the daily interactions with students and teachers and wishes to return to a building-level position." As the school board searches for the next superintendent, they say they may hire an interim superintendent in the short term.
- The Region 1 Planning Council wants to help expand internet coverage and options for all homes in their service area. They invite our readers to take a survey to help identify, among other things, where service gaps are and how satisfied we are with our internet service providers.
