Project 101, Part 2: Retirement Boogaloo

Project 101, will return to the Talcott Library, 101 E. Main St. Rockton, on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 10-11 a.m. to highlight how area residents can better navigate Social Security and retirement savings to meet their retirement goals. Would you like to retire early or receive your full social security check? Do you have other retirement income accounts (or not) and want a some more guidance on how to manage them? How about not retiring much later? Greg and Darlene Cober, leaders and founders of Project 101, are excited to take you through the different ways you can plan for a more comfortable retirement.

Topics to be covered focus mostly on Social Security and retirement savings. With respect to Social Security, Project 101 will highlight how Social Security works, what is full retirement age, and what is the impact if you retire early or retire late? As to retirement savings, the pros and cons of IRAs and Roth IRAs will be highlighted so participants can better choose the IRA type for themselves. In addition, time is set aside to look at employer-based 401k accounts and the benefits they offer. The last item on their docket is Q&A session.
