These two little ones were among hundreds of kids and adults attending Roscoe's National Night Out, Aug. 1, 2023.

National Night Out was held across the United States on Tuesday evening, Aug. 1, 2023.

In Roscoe, hundreds of families came to enjoy food, games, and a chance to talk face-to face with law enforcement personnel.

The yearly event didn't take place last year because of Covid, but this year the celebration was a hit.

National Night Out was founded to foster a sense of community and positive relationships between neighbors and law enforcement.


The City of South Beloit held their National Night Out celebration at the American Legion. The Rockton Police hold a similar annual event, Blues & BBQ, on September 6 at Settlers Park.

The event included a classic car show, food and drinks, Culver's Custard, fire and police displays, kids games, a bounce house and obstacle course, and community vendors.
