Obituary: Linda M. Marquardt (1948-2021)

Linda M. Marquardt, 72, of Roscoe, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 due to natural causes.  Linda was born on September 4, 1948, to James and Theresa Walter in Buffalo, NY. After graduating from Forest View High School in Arlington Heights, she went on to study at Harper College and Elgin Community College where she completed her associate's degree. In 1971, she met Allan Marquardt. They married on May 13, 1972 and were blessed with three children: Gregory, Stephen, and Kristen.

During her career, she worked as a Special Needs Aide to children at Washington Elementary School. She also was an Accounts Manager at Accent Staffing for many years. One of her most recent positions was working at the front desk at Slavic Gospel Association before she retired.

Linda dedicated her life to being a loving and wonderful mother to her family. She made it her mission to love Jesus and others. Linda was passionate about helping pregnant women and their unborn children and served at both the local Crisis Pregnancy Center and Right to Life organizations.  Linda always kept busy and helped in many roles at her church including the Children’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, the Angel Tree program, and Tutor Club.

When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could also be found helping women enhance their God-given beauty through Mary Kay cosmetics. We will miss her love for life and the joy she brought to all of us.

Linda was preceded by her parents, James and Theresa; her brother, John Walter; her father-in-law, Minard Marquardt; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Marquardt. She is survived by her husband of 49 years; three adult children, Gregory, Stephen and Kristen; her son-in-law, Christian Giebler; and two grandchildren, Everleigh and Greyson Giebler.
