Village officials in Roscoe, Rockton, and South Beloit are preparing for a series of meetings that will cover important community projects, public safety updates, and local events. Residents are encouraged to attend to stay informed about decisions and developments involved in their neighborhoods.
Here’s what’s on the agenda.
Issues before the Village of Roscoe Board of Trustees at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 1, 2024:
Village President Carol Gustafson will introduce the newly appointed Village Attorney, Tom Green.
The consent agenda, which contains routine items that can be approved in a single vote, includes:
- Approval of Resolution 2024-R42, entering into an agreement with Omni Technologies, LLC for the renewal of the maintenance agreement and the purchase and installation of hardware for the Village’s access control system.
- Under new business, trustees will consider a Special Event Permit for the 7th Annual Jaimie Cox Memorial 5K Run/Walk, scheduled for October 19, 2024.
Other items on the agenda include updates on the Village’s road patching program by Troy Taylor and details on Halloween Trick-or-Treating hours on October 31, from 5 to 7 p.m.
After the board meeting, the trustees will meet as the Committee of the Whole for a preliminary discussion of portable market huts for the Hometown Holiday event.
Issues before the Village of Rockton Board of Trustees at 7 p.m.:
- Approval of the village-wide incident response plan for cybersecurity with Garcea Technologies for $15,000.
- Approval of Washington Street & Athletic Complex project engineering costs, totaling $79,110.
- Approval of a purchase requisition for Countryman Inc. for the restriping of various roads throughout the village, at a cost of $15,234.
Before the trustee meeting, at 6 p.m., the Budget & Finance Committee will discuss the proposed 1% grocery tax and review several payment recommendations and financial considerations.
