Mercyhealth has announced a temporary closure to their urgent care services in Roscoe, at 5000 Prairie Rose Drive. The primary care physicians at that location are still taking appointments. And Mercyhealth's Perryville urgent care location is still open at 3401 N. Perryville Rd. in Rockford.

Closer to home, the NorthPointe Wellness Immediate Care at 5605 East Rockton Road remains open, from 8:00-8:00 on weekdays and 8:00-4:00 p.m. on weekends. Physicians Immediate Care at 11475 N 2nd St in Machesney Park is also open, but says, "Due to the demand for COVID-19 evaluations and testing, many clinics are experiencing an increase in wait times. At times, we may need to stop walk-in appointments or registration of patients earlier than normal."

In an official statement, a Mercyhealth spokeperson told Rockton-Roscoe News:

Similar to other health care systems in the region, we are experiencing staffing shortages due to the increasing numbers of COVID cases. Care decisions at our clinics are always made based on a triage process and staff availability.
We encourage all community members to continue adhering to standards that have the most impact such as getting vaccinated and/or boosted and wearing masks when indoors. This will allow care for non-COVID conditions, such as preventive and emergency care, to continue unimpeded.
