Six candidates are running for four seats on the Hononegah Community High School School Board, with four incumbents, Joshua Ballard, Eric Flohr, Bob Geddeis, and Gayle Haab and two challengers, Anthony Jenkins and Darrell Polfliet. Eric Flohr is a retired Hononegah Community High School principal. He became principal in 2014 and retired in 2019.

Before coming to Hononegah High School, he was a science teacher, coach and educator for 31 years at Collinsville High School in Collinsville, Illinois.

Flohr is a veteran of the United States Air Force.

In 2019, Flohr was a recipient of the Puri Family Outstanding Principal Award, highlighting his outstanding achievements at Hononegah Community High School.

Following his retirement, Flohr wanted to stay connected with students and faculty. He was elected to the HCHS School Board in May 2023. He is seeking a second term in the April 1, 2025 HCHS School Board election.

Flohr’s wife, Carol, is a science teacher at Stephen Mack Middle School in Rockton, Illinois. They are parents of two daughters, Sabrina and Erica.
