Mary’s Market returns to Roscoe
After a two-year hiatus, the café and bakery has reopened in Roscoe.
Mary’s Market is back. After a two-year hiatus, the café and bakery has reopened in Roscoe. It is located just west of Schnuck's and just north of CVS.
The restaurant at 4866 Bluestem Road in Roscoe, was one of several restaurants throughout the Stateline area that were forced to close their doors in February 2022, due to the COVID pandemic and shortage of staff that followed it. The restaurant eventually became a catering and event space.
That café has now come full circle. On September 16, 2024, the newly remodeled Mary’s Market is back with a refreshed menu and new management, offering lots of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a beautifully refurbished dining area. The bakery offers made-daily cookies, cakes, cookies and bread.
The exterior of the building has remained the same with the exception of a resurfaced parking lot. The large patio is also open, at least until cold weather arrives.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
On Sundays, customers can order on-line for pickup, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a more limited menu.
The bakery and cafe food are fresh and wholesome. The bakery features decadent muffins, cookies, and a variety of fresh-baked breads. Everything is made from scratch.
John Suh opened the first Mary’s Market on State Street in 1982. The popular café soon became one of several in the Rockford area.
In addition to the Roscoe store, there are currently two more Mary’s Markets: 2636 McFarland Road in Rockford, and 4431 East State Street in Rockford.
But the Mary’s Market in Roscoe is the only one that offers drive-thru pick-up. The company's Edgebrook café was closed in 2022 and never reopened.
Miralem Botic is the director of marketing for the Mary’s Market Café and Bakeries. Botic and general manager Jarod Crampton are dedicated to great food and great service. “We want to make sure we do it right.”
