Letter to the Editor: Vote for Hononegah Board Incumbents
By voting to retain Flohr, Geddeis, Haab, and Ballard as school board members, a continued path of success is guaranteed.

On Tuesday, April 1 I urge the voters in the Hononegah Community High School district to vote for board of education incumbents Eric Flohr, Bob Geddeis, Gayle Haab, and Josh Ballard.
As an alumnus, retired teacher/coach, and resident of the district I believe these four candidates have played an integral role in advancing Hononegah’s reputation as an outstanding academic institution. Hononegah remains the #1 high school in the Rockford metro region and in the top 8% of Illinois high schools. Hononegah has also received the “Exemplary School” designation by the Illinois State Board of Education placing it in the top 10% of Illinois high schools.
The school’s strategic plan and facilities improvements have been successful and continue to be because of the commitment these board members have made to the district. The school’s building and outdoor facilities have been significantly updated without the need of a referendum. As a result, the current board has worked diligently at keeping the district’s tax rate lower than many of the surrounding districts while remaining fiscally responsible to the residents of the district. In fact, the tax rate in the district has gone down consistently since 2017.
These board members strongly support all three facets of a well-rounded education that Hononegah Community High School has consistently provided – Academics, Fine Arts, and Athletics. These individuals are not “one issue” candidates.
By voting to retain Flohr, Geddeis, Haab, and Ballard as board members for the Hononegah High School a continued path of success for the students and this community is guaranteed. Count on Experience – Vote 1-2-3-4!
