Hononegah women’s basketball legend Jordan King has been named unanimous preseason All-BIG EAST, the conference announced Tuesday at its annual media day at Madison Square Garden. The Division I BIG EAST conference has 11 member schools who have produced 13 national champions over the past 10 years.  Eight BIG EAST teams have captured national titles.

King, a senior guard at Marquette, was an All-BIG EAST First Team selection during the 2022-23 campaign after averaging 15.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. She led the Golden Eagles in minutes played, three-point percentage, points, assists, and steals per game. In December 2022, she scored her 1,000th career point.

At Hononegah, King was the NIC-10 Conference All-Time leading scorer (2,505 points). She led Hononegah to two conference titles, three regional titles, one sectional/super sectional title, and one third place finish in state. She is currently pursuing a masters of school counseling  at Marquette.

Jordan has started in all 124 games during her collegiate career, averaging 32.5 minutes per contest. King ranked top ten in the BIG EAST in five statistical categories last season: scoring (8th, 15.9), assists (5th, 4.0), steals (5th, 2.0), assist/TO ratio (9th, 1.3), and minutes played (8th, 34.3).

King is the first unanimous selection for Marquette to the preseason All-BIG EAST team since Selena Lott in 2020.
