Jim Davis (1944-2022) owned Roscoe Pack and Mail
A private service will be held with military honors.
James A. Davis, 77, of Roscoe passed away Friday, March 11, 2022. James was born in Rockford on September 27, 1944, the son of Orval and Helen (Taunis) Davis. Jim was a 1962 graduate of Auburn High School and graduated from Southern Illinois University. He married Pamela Seeling on June 2, 1973. He was a U. S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Jim was formerly the budget director for Winnebago County and was owner/operator of Roscoe Pack and Mail. He formerly was an advisor in Junior Achievement. He loved participating in activities with his sons: Jason in sporting events and Joel in music events. He loved anything baseball and was an avid New York Yankees fan. The family enjoyed many years and happy memories of weekends at their summer vacation home in Wisconsin, playing cards at the casino and playing the “Pitch” card game with all the family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pamela; sons: Jason (Kaisa) Davis and their children Ava and Zoe of St. Charles, IL and Joel Davis of Portland, OR; brother: Kip (Sue) Davis of AZ; sisters-in-law: Pat (Paul) Carlson, Sue (Craig) Blixt, Alice Thompson (Mike) and Becky (Jim) Flad; brothers-in-law: Rick (Peggy) Seeling and Tom (Jennie) Seeling; grand dog Jorah; grand cats Harry, Eugene and Luna; numerous nieces and nephew. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Amy Michelle Davis; brother Wayne Davis and sister Lynn Johnson.
Private memorial service will be held at a later date with military honors.
