“If This Land Could Talk” History Walk at Nature At The Confluence
Sat Sep 9 1:00 pm, Nature at The Confluence 306 Dickop Street, South Beloit IL, 61080
Come walk with us to learn about the people who lived here at the confluence of Turtle Creek and the Rock River and those who just passed through. You learn about the Ho-Chunk, the Métis, Fur Traders, Irish settlers, one of the greatest heroes of World War I, plus a few surprise visitors. Therese Oldenburg will be your guide on this walk and she’ll even share how she unearthed “dirty” family ties to this land. Walk is less than 3/4 mile on even ground. While this is a free event, donations are welcome to help us continue our work to restore the land. In case of rain, this event will be held indoors as a presentation. Please register for this free program which is held as part of Beloit Heritage Days through our event website: https://natureattheconfluence.com/event/if-this-land-could-talk-history-walk-at-nature-at-the-confluence/
