Hononegah scores 62 in a pair of shutouts as they beat Belvidere North in Flag Football.
A pair of shutouts at Kelsey Field Tuesday night wasn't even the coolest thing.
Rockton, IL - Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, Hononegah Head Flag Football Coach Jason Brunke was awarded the Chicago Bears Girls Flag Coach of the Week. He received the award during the JV Flag Football game against Belvidere North on Kelsey Field on Tuesday Evening.
The Hononegah Varsity Flag Football team won 53-0 over Belvidere North. Led by senior quarterback Addison Hulburt with 156 yards passing and 4 TDs. The defense pitched another shutout and was led by freshman Taitum Cates's three sacks and sophomore Karla Krause's back-to-back interceptions for TDs to open the 2nd half.
The JV team also shut out Belvidere North, winning 19-0.
The Chicago Bears Girls Flag Coach of the Week program honors outstanding Illinois high school coaches who develop players' football skills and knowledge, character, leadership, discipline, and teamwork abilities.
