Girls 2A Regional — Indians Take 2nd, Advance to Randall Oaks

Senior Alicia Wallin once again set the tone, grinding out an 83 to finish fourth to lead Hononegah at the IHSA 2A Regional at Crystal Woods in Woodstock. Sophomore Sierra Davidson followed with a 94, while fellow sophomores Elliot Campbell (98) and Savanna Plock (102) kept the Indians firmly in contention.

Seniors Izzy D’Haeze (101) and Taylor Schreier (107) rounded out the scoring, giving Hononegah a team total of 376, good enough for second place and a comfortable berth into the IHSA 2A Sectional at Randall Oaks Golf Club in Dundee on Monday, Oct. 5.

It’s a veteran-heavy group with postseason experience, and they’ll need every bit of it on a demanding Randall Oaks layout.

Boys 3A Regional — Six Advance as Hononegah Finishes 3rd

The boys team matched the girls’ momentum with a deep, balanced showing at their 3A Regional @ Atwood Homestead.

Senior Rory Ruper led the way with a sharp 78, followed closely by senior Cole Cooper (79) and senior Andrew Wilson (80). Sophomore Ian Scharre posted an 81, while sophomore Dominic Kasel—fresh off his NIC-10 individual title—carded an 82. Senior Zach Reynolds added an 84 to complete the lineup.
