David F. Peters, 78, graduated from Hononegah High School in 1962 where he was a member of Future Farmers of America, basketball, and football. Later a resident of Janesville, Wisconsin, he was a woodworker and enjoyed making furniture and toys for family and friends. He loved to spend time in Florida with his brother Bob. 

Like his father, son-in-law, and other relatives, David belonged to the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department. He was a member of the Roscoe Lions. He worked for many years in the lumber and building materials business at W.G. Wheeler in Rockford, Amerhart in Madison, and Wolff Distributing in Appleton.

David passed away suddenly on June 26th, 2022. He was born on March 12, 1944 in Elmhurst, IL to Robert and Dorothy Peters



Survivors include children James (Charlene) Peters of Roscoe, Deann (John) Bergeron of Roscoe, Michael Peters of Vine Grove, Kentucky; grandchildren Andrew Gravelle, Kacy (Michael) Kaemke, Ashlee Bergeron, Dalton (Miranda) Bergeron, Morgan (Nathan) Tennant, Jakob Peters, and Lukas Peters; great-grandchildren Jazzalyn, Addison, Charlotte, and Julian; siblings Robert (Mary) Peters of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Marilyn Benson of Marietta, Georgia, and Karen Davis of Roscoe Illinois. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Peters, and grandson, Austin.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main Street, Roscoe with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Graveside services will follow at Livingston Cemetery, Caledonia, Illinois.
