Food and Fun at Taste on Main

Alex and her mom visited 3R's Learning and Materials Center at Main Street Square during "Taste on Main" on Saturday, June 25. The store offered activities including crafts, books and toys to keep kids busy during the event.

Businesses at Main Street Square on Williams Dr. in Roscoe took the opportunity to let Roscoe and neighboring villages know what they are all about during the inaugural “Taste on Main” event on Saturday, June 25.

The mall was built by Haynes Construction over 20 years ago. It has gone through many changes and businesses owners since that time and is now managed by Wind Mill Hill LC.

Main Street Square is currently completely occupied with a diverse group of businesses.



Managers Gus Lamisch, Jason Nisby and Richard Fang were among the visitors to the June 25 event.

Fang said Wind Mill Hill LC were happy to partner with Village of Roscoe Eat One 5 and mall businesses sponsoring “Taste on Main.”

A little rain didn’t get in the way of families enjoying great food, courtesy of a variety of food trucks including: Sabores, Batchz BBQUpstream Fish Co., Pizza FrescaJ & C Old Fashioned Ice Cream, and Vintage Goose Café.

Children had fun with crafts and games at 3R’s Learning Materials Center. Owner Stacy Fry was happy to see a steady stream of kids throughout the day.

Stores and businesses were open for tours, while everyone’s favorite action figures, Spider Man and Ghost Spider, posed for pictures and entertained the kids.

“Touch a Truck” offered the opportunity for kids to climb into firetrucks, police cars and public works department trucks.

Music was provided by 95.3 The Bull, and a local DJ.

Business owners sponsoring “Taste on Main” were Elite Dental, Skin Deep Studio, Edward Jones, First Community Credit Union, Studio 12 Pilates, 3Rs Learning Materials, and Rebecca Weaver Massage.

EAT ONE 5 has plans for other events in Roscoe: Hometown Holidays will return in December and will feature music, food, and activities in both downtown Roscoe and Main Street Square.

Ghost Spider and Spiderman entertained kids of all ages on Saturday, June 25. The family event was free. "Taste on Main" event was sponsored by the Village of Roscoe, and the merchants at Main Street Square.

Vintage Goose Cafe was one of many food trucks serving visitors at Main Street Square.

 Benny's Slots owners Rory Colwell and Jason Jacobson invited visitors to stop in their store during the "Taste on Main" event, June 25 in Main Street Square.
