How would you say you have the greatest impact on this world for good.? I read something recently that really made me think. It was in the Renovaré newsletter, and the author quoted another one of the staff who said, "I have now come to believe that building and cultivating relationships is the most significant thing I will ever do on earth."
It stopped me in my tracks. It brought tears to my eyes. My heart cried out a resounding "YES!" It is in fact a confirmation of everything that God has been trying to teach us about love- his love for us, and our love for each other.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." Jesus to the Pharisee (Matthew 22:37,38)
"By this everyone will know you are my disciples, if you love one another." Jesus to his disciples (John 13:34)
Giving people time, giving them attention, showing them kindness, and listening when they have something to say: this, more than anything else we do, may shape the world for good.
How are you at building and cultivating relationships?
Have a great week!
