Families and friends are invited to pull their lawn chairs up to the campfire this Saturday, enjoy a hot dog and s’mores while listening to lively music at the Roscoe United Methodist Church “Spring Bonfire.” The event takes place on the lawn at Roscoe United Methodist Church, 10816 S. Main Street, Saturday, April 23, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., and is free to the public.
During the “Spring Bonfire,” RUMC church committee members will put shovels into the ground, signaling the beginning of construction for the future home of Serenity Memorial Garden & Ashuary. The ground-breaking and dedication ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m., on the west side of the church property, at the intersection of Reed Lane and Race Street.
The garden will offer church and community members a serene and peaceful location to pray, reflect, memorialize and lay their loved ones to rest. Completion is expected this summer.
