Harlem Veteran Project: The Art of Reflection

Harlem High School teachers Kyra Newnam and Nicholas Stange have been leading the Harlem Veteran Project, which has recorded over 200 video interviews with veterans in the Northern Illinois area for the Library of Congress Veterans History Project. Mr. Stange is also responsible for the Harlem News Network. 

In this video: For the past two school years the Harlem Veteran Project documented the construction of a Vietnam float for the Vietnam Veterans of America chapter 984. The float was built by Harlem High School teachers William Duncan and Barbara Kurilla and the 2019-2020 and 2021-2021 Harlem High School welding classes.
