Obituary: Sandra Lynn Montoya (1956-2021)

Sandra Lynn Montoya, 65, of Roscoe passed away Friday, August 13, 2021. She was born June 22, 1956 in Inglewood, CA, the daughter of Jack and Arlyn Southworth. A graduate of Rockford Jefferson High School class of 1973, she married Joel Montoya on January 20, 1973 in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was a member of Tabor Lutheran Church. Sandra retired from Rockford Memorial Hospital and enjoyed traveling, bowling, social events and spending time with her family.

Survivors include husband, Joel Montoya; children, Joel (Lisa) Montoya II, Joshua (Catherine) Montoya, Jacob (Sarah) Montoya; grandchildren, Amanda Montoya, Andrea Montoya, Joel Montoya III, Hannah Montoya, Allison Montoya, Hayley Montoya, Samara Montoya, Maxton Montoya, Javen Montoya, Alexis Montoya, Sophia Montoya, Savannah Montoya; great grandchildren, Charlotte Montoya, Emmanuel Cooper, Ellison Cooper, Keith Anthony III; and brothers, Jay Southworth and Shawn Southworth. She was predeceased by parents; and brother, Ron Southworth.

Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main Street, Roscoe with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Sandra's name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the American Cancer Society.
