The white and black house at 5454 Bridge Street in Roscoe has become a center for wellness and health. The building has been unoccupied for several years, but is now the home of Bridge Street Collective.
Dakota Felkkowski initially rented the Bridge Street property, but said she didn’t need the entire house. “I decided to offer space to businesses that promote health and wellness.”
Three health-oriented businesses are now under the Bridge Street Collective umbrella:
- Dakota Felckowski Wellness
- Take Charge Modern Holistic Health
- Caya Massage and Wellness Center
Coincidentally, all three women are graduates of Hononegah Community High School.
Dakota has an extensive background in nursing. She has a bachelor degree in nursing from Northern Illinois University, and a nurse practitioner and holistic nutrition degree from Rush University in Chicago. She previously worked in pediatrics at Swedish American Clinic in Roscoe. Dakota specializes in nutritional hair analysis and health coaching. From four strands of hair scanned through a computer, she is able to assess what is impacting the client’s health.
She incorporates one to one coaching with the clients for a minimum of three months. Clients are also required to keep a food journal.
“I am all about getting to the underlying cause of health problems.”
Interviews and consultations are conducted virtually. Appointments are booked through her website: dakotafelckowski.com or email: hello@dakotafelckowski.com
Abbie Honaker, FDN-P (Functional Diagnostic Nutrition) joined the collective a few months ago. She is the founder of Take Charge- Modern Holistic Health.
Abbie is board certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She specializes in women’s hormone and gut health.
“Our goal is to help find root-cause solutions to your health challenges.”
A customized care plan, including a combination of the right labs and coaching are implemented to get to the source of an imbalance in the body. Expert guidance and coaching are done through virtual contact and by telephone.
Abbie can be contacted by email: support@takechargeholistichealth.com, her website: takechargeholistichealth.com or call 815-200-9454 for a free consultation.
The third wellness and health practitioner at Bridge Street Collective is massage therapist Robyn Miller. Robyn owns Caya Massage and Wellness Center. She treats surface tension, discomfort from muscle and connective tissue and relaxation treatments. She opened her practice November 23, 2023.
Robyn received her training at Rock Valley College, in Rockford, Illinois. She offers full massages and chair massages every day of the week at Bridge Street Collectives. She is available seven days a week by appointment only.
Appointments are booked by calling (608) 313-4507, or on line at http://www.massagebook.com.
Tucked in a former garage right next to Bridge Street Collective is a charming little specialty jewelry shop – Linkt. The unique jewelry store features clasp-less, permanent jewelry.
Instead of a clasp, owner Katie Thompson welds the pieces together to create custom fitted permanent necklaces, anklets and bracelets.
The beautiful little shop is open on Saturdays 11 am - 3 pm, and Sundays 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Katie also sells her jewelry at pop-ups in the Rockford area as well as private parties.
She can be reached at linktjewelry@gmail.com.
