Patricia Peterson (1948-2023)

Patricia (Patty) Peterson was a graduate of St. Anthony School of X-Ray Technology in Rockford, IL. Patty enjoyed working with many wonderful people. She retired from OSF Health Care after a rewarding career. She  was a resident of Roscoe, IL.

Patty passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

Patty was born on March 17, 1948, the daughter of Rita (McAuliffe) Glynn Roherty and Donald Glynn of Janesville, WI. She attended Janesville High School. She married Raymond “Pete” Peterson on March 17, 1977. They loved to travel to Leadville, CO, and to South Padre Island in Texas, as well as visiting many state parks around the country. She loved taking photos and became quite a family photographer.

Patty was a dedicated wife, sister, grandmother, and friend to many. She found gratification in helping others. Patty was a founding member of the Stateline Works of Mercy, taught Sunday school, was the past president of the Saint Prisca Women’s Group, and a volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul food pantry.

One of the helpers at the food pantry described Patty as a person who never said no when it came to serving the Lord. She was a very special person to all who knew her. Patty was a proud grandmother to Elli and Devin as she supported them from a young age into the kind and caring persons they have become.

Patty is survived by her husband, Pete; siblings, Barbara (Phil) Gredler of Janesville, WI, Martha (Gary) Kuehne of Whitewater, WI, Maureen (Oscar) McNeil of Lincoln, MO, Casey and Pam Glynn of Wisconsin Rapids, Peggy (Jeff) Dilley, Michael Glynn both of Janesville, WI, Charles and Michele Glynn of Middleton, WI; two grandchildren, Elli (Calieb) Cory of Oconomowoc, WI and Devin (Samantha) Peterson of Milwaukee, WI; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a very warm and heartfelt thank you to the entire medical team at Saint Anthony’s Hospital for her special care, and her many special friends of the Holy Spirit Church who made her journey through life a most memorable experience.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 620 Blackhawk Blvd., South Beloit, IL, with Fr. Romeo Pavino officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery, South Beloit, IL.

Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium helped the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, St. Vincent DePaul, or to your favorite choice of giving, would be greatly appreciated.
