Independent bookstore to open in Rockton
Since the August announcement from the owners- husband and wife team Darrell and Tierra Polfliet, the excitement and anticipation for the new downtown addition has spread throughout the region.
Inkwell will have a wide selection of new and used fiction, non-fiction, adult, young adult, and children’s books. Not limited to just books, the store will also be selling a variety of goods and eclectic gifts, such as pens, stationery, bookmarks and stickers, and even records, new and vintage clothing, and their own signature candle!
The Polfliets grew up in the area and live in Rockton with their three sons. The idea for Inkwell was born from their family’s love of books and this community. They love downtown and have a great relationship with many local business owners on and around Main St., and they mention that they can't wait to start partnering with them for exciting events that we can look forward to in the future.
Darrel Polfliet says, “Rockton’s a great small town that really has a lot going for it. We've had an excellent response, and we are excited to bring a bookstore here. It's what many people want to see open, and we’re happy we get to be a part of it all.”
Tierra Polfliet says they are open to feedback on what sort of events and experiences shoppers would like to see happen at Inkwell, but that we can definitely expect to see a congregating area, a writing area for writers, a kid's corner, Tuesday book clubs, local author meet and greets, and even tarot card readings!
The new independent bookstore plans to open its doors during the annual Jingle Bell ROCKton, with an anticipated grand opening on November 3, 2023 following a soft opening on November 2, 2023.
