Strong spirits: not just a friend

Jesus doesn't just want to be your friend- though he certainly does.

He is also God Almighty. That means he has all the authority and power as God himself. He claimed this for himself when he was on earth by his words and actions. Most significantly, he claimed it by his death and resurrection. It was this claim that put him on the cross in the first place, because his detractors were appalled and angered that he claimed oneness with God. But he did. And he does. And he is.

"In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and the Word was with God and the Word was God." the apostle John (John 1:1)

"All things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the light is the light of mankind." John again (John 1:3)

I once had a student ask me, "Doesn't Jesus just want to be my buddy?" No. He wants to be your friend, AND he wants you to know he is God, too.

Do you know him?
