Fitness enthusiasts can now add a new and fun exercise to their list of activities: flying!

Janette Miller recently opened Uplift Bungee Fitness at 4817 Rockton Rd., Unit 300, right in front of the Roscoe Walmart, near T-Mobile and Yaba Sushi and Steak.

Uplift Bungee brings something different to the community. Clients simply hook themselves to a bungee harness and fly through the air.

Janette opened Uplift Bungee Fitness last November She currently teaches all of the classes. “I am also a personal trainer and have worked in nearly every fitness center in the area.”

Uplift Bungee was first developed in Thailand. It has been available in the United States since 2017. “It’s not a franchise,” Janette said. “I saw a class on social media and looked into it.”

Members must be at least 14 years old. Everyone taking the one-hour class is weighed and measured before beginning their workout. The bungee is a support system and is customized by weight and height. Body weight must be 90 to 275 lbs. Class size is limited to 10.

Janette claims there are plenty of benefits to Uplift Bungee. “The workout improves energy, uplifts your spirits, It’s low impact and high energy. It’s fun and you get to fly!”

Janette is originally from Crystal Lake, IL. She and her husband Jessie and their three children have lived in the Shirland area for about 15 years.
