Jim Stephens was born in Jamestown, KY

James Lawrence Stephens, age 82, of Roscoe, was born on June 13, 1940 to Olice & Ada Stephens (Smith). His birthplace was Jamestown, KY, which was the county seat (pop. 476) of Russell County, between Russell Springs and the Cumberland River.

Jim passed away peacefully on Monday, October 10, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend; "He will remain forever in our hearts," says his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Judith R. Stephens (Lowry); children, Paula Stephens, Aaron (fiancé Susie Miller) Stephens, Don (Donna) Pumphrey and Tammy (Russ) Hawn; grandchildren, Jaime, Jessica, Jacob, Amber & Taylor; great grandchildren, Kayson, Dawson, Michael & Kye; sister, Christine (late Carlos) Craven; and numerous nieces & nephews.

He is predeceased by his grandson, Zachary Stephens.

Services are private. Christenson Funeral Home assisted with cremation arrangements. Memorial gifts may be sent to the family.
