Alyce Howe was a talented artist

Alyce C. Howe, 70, of Roscoe was born April 29, 1952 in Chicago. Her father Herman Hanert passed away when she was two. Then her mother Alice married John Gross.

Alyce married Thomas Howe on February 9, 1998 in Rockford. She was a unit secretary for Swedish American Hospital until her retirement.

Alyce passed away October 13, 2022.



A member of the Ross-Pearson VFW, Post 5149 Ladies Auxiliary. Alyce was a talented artist and enjoyed painting and creating one of a kind crafts and gifts. She loved animals and was devoted to her dogs.

Left behind to cherish her memory are husband, Thomas Howe; daughters, Melissa (Chris) Worland, Renee (Mark) Forberg, Stephanie Stone; step daughter, Patty Henckelman; grandchildren, AJ Stone, Gregory Stone, Reed Worland, Fenton Worland, Kaelen Forberg, Riley Forberg; sisters, Glenna Boardman, Barbara Snyder; and dear friend, Bobbie Richardson. She was predeceased by her parents; brother Russell Hanert; and sister Diane Soldano.

Celebration of life will be held from 1 – 3 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main Street, Roscoe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary.
