John Hodges, 53, was a “traveling tool box”
John P. Hodges, of Roscoe, IL, worked for Rainbo Oil for 2o years. John loved riding his Harley, which he always kept spic and span. He was a careful driver and wouldn’t start riding in the spring until it had rained three times, so no winter salt would get on the bike. He also loved to play guitar, like his father, and work with wood - John built his daughter's bed and many other things. He was a “traveling tool box” - well prepared, very particular and ready to help his family out. John was an avid sports club shooter, gun collector and member of the Northern Illinois Rifle & Pistol Club.
On September 25, 1993, John married Cindy Flanigan, who survives him, along with daughter, Courtney (Jared Simenson) Hodges of Kenosha, WI; mother, Lelia of Machesney Park; siblings, David Hodges of New York and Lisa Hodges of Loves Park; mother-in-law, Mary Flanigan; sister-in-law, Sue Flanigan; brother-in-law, Mike Flanigan; nieces & nephews, David Doyle, Joseph Doyle, Matthew Jones, Carter Hodges, Nicole Benavides, Reagan & Quinn Flanigan, Alex Osborne, and Mia Brumett; and several special friends. He was predeceased by his father, Andrew; and sisters-in-law, Lisa Erf Hodges and Patricia Flanigan.
