Sealcoating on Swanson Road in Roscoe will begin Thursday, August 4, 2022, and should be completed by Wednesday, August 10, 2022, weather permitting, according to an announcement from the Winnebago County Highway Department, released Tuesday.
This construction work will extend the entire length of Swanson Road, from IL-251 to Belvidere Road. Temporary closures should be expected during seal coating. Delays should be expected. The Highway Department advises, "Please plan an alternate route."
The best alternate route may involve Belvidere Road. Near Porter Park, Perryville Road goes south and McDonald Road goes northwest. Swanson Road also crosses Swanson Drive, Leicester Way, Southdown Lane, and I-90.

Some of the affected destinations on Swanson Road are Swanson Park, Porter Park (which can be reached from McDonald Road), and Kieselberg Forest Preserve.
