Elev815 spotlights 3R’s Learning Materials Center

Members and friends of elev815 got together at 3R’s Learning Materials Center in Main Street Square in Roscoe, on Thursday evening, July 21.

The store at 5388 Williams Dr. is tucked between Stateline Chamber of Commerce and First Community Credit Union. It’s filled with books, toys, learning and teaching materials, including flash cards, activity books, stuffed animals, resource materials and educational games.

Fry, a member of elev815, welcomed the group and talked about how the store came to be.



Fry’s mother, Jane Erickson, founded the 3R’s in 2005, The popular store was previously located in Rockford, on Morsay Dr. and later moved to Edgebrook Center.

“Before my mom passed away, she asked me to take over the business.” Fry said. “At first, I was reluctant to take it on,” but decided to continue my mother’s legacy. "Now I love what I do."

She opened the present store in Roscoe about a year ago. “I chose Roscoe because I wanted to be closer to my two daughters and grandchildren.”

Fry said she has seen an increased interest in educational toys and manipulative items.

Manipulative learning involves use of physical and visual tools used by teachers and children in learning activities.

3R’s store hours are Monday through Friday, 11:AM - 6:00 PM, Saturdays, 11:00 - AM– 5:00 PM.

Fry said items can be ordered on line and delivered to the store with no charge for shipping.

Members of elev815 have many opportunities throughout the year to showcase their businesses through business highlights, Business before Breakfast and participation in local activities.

The volunteer organization supports small businesses, youth and community.
