Pietro Girgenti (1950-2022) founded Pietro’s Pizza

Pietro Girgenti, 72, of Roscoe was born in Marsala, Sicily on April 7, 1950, the son of Francesco and Giuseppa (Maggio) Girgenti. He immigrated from Sicily in 1983 and established Pietro’s Pizza in Roscoe in February 1991. He was also the owner of Marsala Wine Vineyards in Sicily. Pietro enjoyed hunting, cooking, working in the family vineyard, and going out with friends and family.

Pietro passed away July 7, 2022. 

Survivors include sister Lucia Girgenti; nephew Paolo (Antonella) Stella; niece Rosalba (Giuseppe) Di Girolamo; and nieces and nephews in Italy. He was predeceased by his parents. 

Memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2022 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main Street, Roscoe.
