Rockton firefighters found a fire on the night of Oct. 20, 2022 in the attic of a home in the 1400 block of N. Blackhawk Blvd. The location is near Wright Drive, across from Blackhawk Prairie Park.

Fire crews from the City of South Beloit and Harlem-Roscoe Fire Departments were summoned automatically.  An ambulance from Northwest Rescue stood by just in case.

Fire crews quickly located the fire and extinguished it. No injuries were reported. Investigators believe an electrical issue they found in the attic may have caused the fire.

Per the Rockton Fire Protection District's Facebook page, "Chief Wilson would like to applaud our firefighters for their quick action containing this fire. Thank you to our automatic aid partners who responded as well. Great job by all!"
