Alan Adamany (1937-2022) loved God and shared from his gardens

Elie (Alan) Adamany, 85, was born a U.S. citizen in Zahle, Lebanon on April 29, 1937, the son of Olga (Filfley) and Michel Adamany. His father was an U.S. citizen. Alan arrived in the United States in 1953, where his family settled in Rockford.

Alan died peacefully on July 13, 2022 in Rockton, with his family by his side.

Alan’s greatest loves were his love of God and his family. Until his declining health prevented him, he attended church faithfully every Sunday.

He also took great pride in growing fruits, vegetables, roses, and other flowers in his gardens. He shared his abundance with many.



Alan is survived by his three children: Zana (Tony) Tannous, Andrew Adamany and Thomas (Shannon) Adamany; grandchildren Zachary Valente, Kevin Tannous, Sabrina Tannous, Alexander (Olivia) Adamany and Joshua (Debbymar) Adamany; his brothers, John (Betty) Adamany, Anthony Adamany; and the mother of his children, Jackie Adamany; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Linnie Keller Adamany, his parents Michel and Olga Adamany; his brother Fouad (Fred) Adamany, sisters-in-law Hayat Hreiz Adamany and Nancy Coomber Adamany.

Memorial gifts may be made to Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Rockford, where a private funeral service was arranged by Sundberg Funeral Home.
