Washington's Birthday

George Washington, born  Feb. 22, 1732 (in the Gregorian calendar), led the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War, moderated the Constitutional Convention of 1787, and served two terms as the United States' first president before imposing term limits on himself.  The Revolutionary War was lauded worldwide as the first anti-colonial revolution that succeeded. After the war, he became increasingly but privately opposed to slavery.
