Like many Memorial Day parades, the Roscoe parade has been canceled. The VFW will hold a brief ceremony at Roscoe Cemetery, beginning at 11:00.

The following local service members are buried elsewhere:

Marine Corps, PFC

Roscoe, Illinois

Killed in action, June 2, 1967, Vinh Huy Village Complex Nui Loc Son Basin, South Vietnam, Quang Tin province

US Army Air Corps, Second Lieutenant

Roscoe, Illinois

Killed in action, January 30, 1944, near Ehlershausen or Odershagen, Germany

The Village board also approved a contribution to SMTD, the 2026 tax levy, and an emergency well repair.

The evening wrapped up with Christmas caroling around the Village tree in Roscoe IL.

We remember those who are no longer with us in South Beloit, Roscoe, and Rockton.

Many churches in farthest northern Illinois have special Christmas plans.
