Election 2025: exactly who won
With some localized passion, the Consolidated General Election on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 saw a 14.87% voter turnout.

In the Consolidated General Election on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, the Roscoe Township Republicans slate received many more votes than the Roscoe Independents slate, all but one of whom were also Republicans. Replacing all the Independents, Republican candidates John Ballano, Dave Benjamin, Greg Ragan, and Scott Sallinger were elected as trustees.
Incumbent Roscoe Township Supervisor Bob Nowicki held back a challenge from his assistant, Dawn Cassady, and won a second term after switching from the Independent to the Republican ticket. The rest of the Independent slate was also voted out of office, including the lone Democratic candidate in the race, Elizabeth Lindquist. Trustee Pat Henderson, who almost decided not to run this year, had to depend on write in votes after his petitions were challenged. He served on the board for 43 years.
Rockton Township had two slates on the ballot too, but the results were less partisan than in Roscoe Township. Republican Michael Lindt will join incumbent Republicans Constance Gleasman and Gene Hermann. But Independent Vicky Ivy also kept her seat on the board. As in Musical Chairs, there aren't always enough seats for everyone, so Independent Rickie Gomes and Republican Clifford Jensen will have to try again next time.
The results of the Talcott Library election were also mixed. Conservative candidates tended to do better but not always. The two incumbents who voted to allow a drag queen Q&A in 2023 were not reelected this time, but board president Gary Kovanda was. Of three conservative challengers on the same slate, Nadine Kelley and Mary-Katherine Lindt were elected but Neala Jensen wasn't. Hilaree Lombardo, who is a librarian by trade, will also join the board.
The four incumbents on the Hononegah School Board, Joshua Ballard, Eric Flohr, Bob Geddeis, and Gayle Haab, were reelected.
Newcomers David Bennington, Sarah Spradlin-Doerflinger, and Jamin Unger will join the Rockton Board of Trustees.
Village of Roscoe Trustee Justin Plock will be joined by John Broda and Dayne Mead, while Stacy Mallicoat lost his seat after 30 years of service.
For South Beloit School Board, four write-candidates received 46% of the 400 votes cast. Devon Pilz was the only name listed on the ballot, so the only one who could be electronically tabulated. Which write-candidates will serve on the board has yet to be announced.
