Dec. 27, 2024:
Donna Johnson, 81, Rockton
Talented and adventurous, she was a master of quilting and sewing, and she played a fierce game of dominos.
Dec. 31, 2024:
Bert Thomas III, 81, South Beloit
Co-owner of Parkside Warehouse, he passed on an appreciation of hard work and sarcastic wit. He married his wife in 1964 and they never stopped holding hands.
Jan. 1, 2025:
Erin Ivancich, 50, Roscoe
Her focus in life was helping others. She loved learning the Serbian traditions of her husband's family.
Jan. 2, 2025:
Kenneth Ruge, 73, Roscoe
He and his wife opened the first Culver's franchise in Illinois, then volunteered for missions organization Wycliffe Associates.
Eunicha Bills, 87, South Beloit
She lived on Sauk Ridge Drive.
Jan. 6, 2025:
Gary Swartout, 81, South Beloit
He worked his whole adult life at Rockford Clutch/Borg Warner. After he could no longer use a motorcycle, he rode a Vespa scooter more than 125 miles into Wisconsin to meet up with friends.
