With sadness, we announce the following deaths for Rockton, Roscoe, and South Beloit in recent weeks:

Nov. 2, 2025:
Tami R. Tyrrell, 64, South Beloit
A graduate of Harlem High School and Rock Valley College, she was a skilled tax preparer. She married her husband in 1982 and lived on Wittwer Rd.

Anders Gredenius, 91, Roscoe
Born in Sweden, he immigrated to America in 1958. He became a skilled upholsterer. He taught Swedish classes through Rock Valley College. He and his wife ran a Swedish bakery in Michigan for several years.

Nov. 5, 2025:
David Standfield, 89, South Beloit
He lived on South Bluff Street.

Nov. 7, 2025:
Marlys Nickel, 82, Roscoe
She could sit for hours talking about her life and experiences. She was looking forward to making it to their 10th wedding anniversary later this month.

Rodney K. Nelson, 93, Shirland
Following his Air Force service, he built a successful entrepreneurial career, and lived a life centered on faith, family, and community.

Nov. 8, 2025:
Beverly J. DeMarb, 90, South Beloit
She graduated from dancing school in 1952 and from South Beloit High School in 1953. For 22 years, she owned and operated Miss Bev’s Dance Studio and later took over the family business, a bar with great country music and a hitching post out front for your horse. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Beverly DeMarb (1935-2025)

Nov. 12, 2025:
Ann E. Anderson, 77, Rockton
Born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, she taught history in Rockford and was later appointed principal of Auburn High School, the first woman to lead a Rockford high school.

Nina A. Sardisco, 97, Roscoe
After retiring from the Diocese of Rockford as a church secretary, she worked as a greeter at the Roscoe McDonald’s through her late 80s. She sang with the Italian Choral group for many years and went parasailing in her 70's.
