Jan. 4, 2026:
Eleanor J. Johnson, 99, South Beloit
Born in 1926, she lived on Loris Place.
Michael G. Callihan, 84, Rockton
A proud Navy veteran, he worked at a machine shop for many years before he retired to work at his favorite golf course, Ledges in Roscoe.

Jan. 9, 2026:
James J. Sanders, 38, Roscoe
He served as a sergeant for the South Beloit Police Department for 16 years. More recently, he worked as a police officer with the BMO Center in downtown Rockford.

Jan. 10, 2026:
Donald L. Kearns, 89, Rockton
He loved restoring John Deere two-cylinder tractors, collecting clocks, strumming his guitar, or caring for animals.

Bernadette M. Conner, 78, Rockton
Born in South Dakota, she lived most of her life in the Durand area. She worked for Amerock Corp. in Rockford, Illinois for 22 years.

Jan. 11, 2026:
Paulina Munoz Tavares, 73, South Beloit
Born in Guanajuato, Mexico, she was a homemaker her entire life. She loved cooking and caring for her family.

Jan. 13, 2026:
Schelley L. Moran, 59, Rockton
Born in Rome, NY, she excelled as a software sales representative and customer account coordinator, but her heart was always with her family.

Phillip E. Lowery Sr., 90, Roscoe
He met the love of his life at the Hillside Drive-In in South Beloit. They were proudly married for over 67 years.

Jan. 14, 2026:
Marjorie P. Brown, 87, Rockton
After polio at age 13, doctors told her that she would never walk again (but she did) and should not have children (she had five).
