5,000 claims to process and review - Holian settlement update
Settlement payments are anticipated for first quarter of 2026.
Analytics Consulting, the settlement firm that is processing claims from the Holian Insulation class action lawsuit (related to Grasley, et al. v. Chemtool Inc.), has told Rockton-Roscoe News, "We have over 5,000 claims to process and review. It should be much faster than for Grasley v Chemtool, as we have more information. Distribution of settlement payments is anticipated in the first quarter of 2026."
It sounds like the number of Holian claimants, if all are approved, has doubled from the Chemtool settlement. Only 2,300 Chemtool claims had been tabulated by the Sept. 12, 2004 deadline, though it turned out hundreds had gone missing. However, 5,000 total Holian claims means that not all of the 7,000 eligible claimants applied. How this will impact final payments remains to be seen, but if all claims were filed, an average payment of $500 would be made for each claim (not each person).
Speaking on the phone, a representative from Analytics Consulting said the new claimants who are denied will be notified by mail of the decision and have a chance to rectify their claim for further review. Rockton-Roscoe News is not currently aware of any denial letters being either sent or received as of publication.
