A wide variety at Roscoe Methodist Men's Car and Bike Show
From Model A to to T-Bird, fire truck to tractor: you could see it in the Methodist parking lot.
Doris Tropp of Roscoe United Methodist Church contributed most of the reporting for this story.
Cars and bikes in all shapes and sizes were on display and competing for awards on Saturday at the Roscoe Methodist Men's Car and Bike Show on August 28. Oogles and ah's abounded for a wide variety of vehicles, including a tiny Nash Metropolitan, a row of Corvettes, a Polaris Slingshot, a Massey Ferguson tractor and an antique fire truck.
S0me church members gave demonstrations on checking tires and fluids and doing basic vehicle maintenance, while others cooked and sold lunches.
The winners of the four awards took home bragging rights and a framed photo of themselves with their vehicle. Despite the hot and humid temperatures, three live bands - The 80’s Hit List, Wade Collier Band and Mahalo - gave a great soundtrack for the event, which raised a nice profit for local charities.
The winners were:
- Peoples Choice - 1955 Chevy Truck, owned by Shawn Sweeney
- Best Project Car - 1963 Ford Falcon, owned by Steve Schellschmidt
- Pastor's Choice - 1963 Ford Unibody, owned by Scott Christensen
- Best Bike -2011 Black Harley, owned by Don Peterson
