This season, the game between Hononegah and Harlem on Friday night at 7:15 p.m. feels a little different than normal. Both squads lost a lot from last season and come in relying more on youth and inexperience.

In the opening week, both teams got victories; however, both saw things that they want to and need to clean up. Harlem struggled on offense and played good defense in the 21-12 win over Auburn last week. Hononegah took home a solid if not dominant victory over a more-than-game Jefferson squad last Saturday afternoon. Cole Warren was 10-15 for three TDs and 181 yds. The defense led by Junior Gabe Kohl had 7.5 TFL’s and got a fumble recovery as well. Expect the defense to tighten up things as this season continues - starting this week against Harlem.
