"We are Mopar people. It's in our blood."
Roscoe-native and IL-16 Congressional candidate Paul Nolley gives remarks at UAW hall in Belvidere upon earning UAW and AFL-CIO endorsements.
Mr. Nolley's remarks (seen in the Youtube video below the fold) given on December 16, 2025, were made the same day Mr. Nolley, currently campaigning for the IL-16 congressional seat, garnered endorsements of the Illinois State UAW CAP (United Auto Workers Community Action Program) Council and the Illinois State AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations), the largest federation of unions in the United States.
Mr. Nolley's remarks in full (15 minutes).
Speaking to the hall, he shared his automotive history tied to the region. "My dad was a mechanic for a Chrysler dealership. My grandfather worked at Sun Strandquist in downtown Rockford. I had two uncles, great uncle's. One hauled vehicles out of the assembly. Another raced only Chrysler vehicles at Rockford Speedway," remarked Nolley. "So we are Mopar people. That's in our blood."
He later went on to thank the groups for their endorsement and stressing how AFL-CIO interests align with his work and others in the district as well. "[They] endorse candidates only that are committed to being part of this fight for good wages, benefits, and working conditions. In exchange for all that hard work that all of those type of people and beyond put in every single day. And that those types of candidates that will always every day protect and strengthen that worker's rights to organize without fear, without intimidation or retaliation form their employers. [...] This is meaningful."
