Village of Roscoe to make decisions on Riverside Park cleanup, Swanson Park improvements, and pavement patching
The Roscoe board will also talk about "responsible bidders" and the Committee of the Whole.
At its May 16, 2023 board meeting, the Village of Roscoe will recognize Bryan Noreen and his team for their participation in the KNIB Great American Cleanup, and the contributions they have made to keeping Roscoe clean and beautiful.
Trustees are expected to approve an agreement to pay $12,050 to Landscape Material and Firewood Sales for the tub grinding of branches and storm debris collected at Riverside Park. They are also expected to approve $11,850 for Tree Care Enterprises to remove dead/hazardous trees and undergrowth along Riverside Park. Also up for a final vote: $15,978 for new heating and air conditioning systems for the Swanson Park concession building, for which Total Plumbing and Heating is the winning bid.
Furthermore, the board will vote on Ordinance 2023-05, which amends the criteria for determining what constitutes a "Responsible Bidder" for public works projects of the Village.
The board will also consider a plan to recodify and reorganize Village ordinances. The Code of Ordinances online has not been updated since 2017.
Brandon Boggs, the Village Engineer, will recommend that the Board award the 2023 Class “D" pavement patching contract to Stenstrom Excavating for $50,000, an amount that has already been appropriated.
Scott Sanders, the Village Administrator, will give an update on current projects: subdivision entrance signs, Chicory Ridge Park lighting, and Porter Park projects. He will also make a presentation on Village of Roscoe procurement policies and procedures. Another presentation will discuss an ordinance governing the creation, purpose, membership, and rules of procedure of the Committee of the Whole.
