Village meetings this week: what’s on the agenda

Rockton, South Beloit, and Roscoe officials have several meetings this week to discuss important topics like holiday events, tax levies, and local projects. Here’s a quick look at what’s coming up and what residents can expect to hear about.

Rockton:

• The Rockton Administration Committee will meet Monday, November 18, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. Agenda items include a discussion on a recruitment proposal for a new village administrator.
• The Public Works Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. the same evening to discuss project updates, a $13,880 HVAC replacement at Village Hall, and a special events application for the Rockton Christmas Walk.
• The Budget and Finance Committee will convene Tuesday, November 19, at 6 p.m., followed by the Village Board of Trustees meeting at 7 p.m. Topics include tax levy discussions, hiring snowplow drivers, and plans for holiday decorations.

South Beloit:

• Approval of a $262,488 purchase for two Kenworth chassis trucks for the Public Works Department.

Roscoe:

• The Roscoe Liquor Commission will meet on Tuesday, November 19, at 6:15 p.m. They will review and recommend temporary liquor licenses for Louie’s Tap House and Poison Ivy Pub for the Hometown Holiday event on December 14.
• The Village Board of Trustees meeting will follow at 6:30 p.m. Agenda highlights include approving resolutions for snowplow driver hiring, tax levy estimates for 2024, and annexing two parcels designated for light industrial zoning.
